Schoolchildren and housewives - some of whom had been waiting for more than three hours
Schoolchildren and housewives - some of whom had been waiting for more than three hours - mobbed the Irish pop stars, the Bachelors when they opened a beauty salon in Kenilworth. First to arrive outside Votre Beaute in Abbey End, was Mrs. Doris Wright, at 9 o clock. She waited nearly four hours to get the stars autographs for her two daughter who were in bed with chickenpox. The Bachelors are friends of the salon proprietress, Mrs. Eileen Kelly, and the salon is the second they have opened for her. Two years ago the trio opened her salon in Tile Hill Lane, Coventry. Mrs. Kelly said: " I met them at a party some years before they were famous and we ve kept in touch ever since." The new salon, which will provide the full range of beauty treatments, will have a staff of twelve.

Schoolchildren and housewives eagerly await the arrival of Irish pop stars, the Bachelors, as they open a beauty salon in Kenilworth. The excitement is palpable as some fans have been patiently waiting for over three hours to catch a glimpse of their beloved idols. Leading the pack is Mrs. Doris Wright, who arrived promptly at 9 o'clock in the morning, enduring nearly four hours of anticipation just to secure autographs from the Bachelors for her two daughters battling chickenpox at home. The Bachelors share a special bond with salon owner Mrs. Eileen Kelly, having opened her previous establishment in Coventry two years ago. Their friendship dates back even further when they first crossed paths before fame found them all. Now reunited once again, this time to inaugurate Votre Beaute in Abbey End, these talented musicians are met with overwhelming adoration from their loyal fanbase. The new salon promises an array of beauty treatments and will be staffed by twelve dedicated professionals. As captured in this timeless photograph from August 25th, 1969, it serves as a testament to the power of music and its ability to bring people together across generations.
