EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases a passport card of a mesmerizing part of the coast in Kola, Russia. The Pass card White Sea mont takes us on an enchanting journey starting from Tiepena to Pelitza, as well as from C. Candenoes to Catsnoes. This meticulously crafted pass card has been accurately set up and improved, rectifying any previous inaccuracies. The title on the object reveals its significance - Passport card of part of the coast of Kola in Russia. Additionally, it features four insert cards depicting Swyatoi Nos and part of Lapland's coast, Lumbovski Bay, the mouth of the Kola river, and Kitdin Island. To aid navigation, six compass roses are thoughtfully included. At the bottom left corner lies a beautifully designed cartouche containing essential information such as the title itself along with details about the publisher and scale. Interestingly enough, this scale is presented in German, Spanish, and English or French miles. Adding intrigue to this already fascinating piece are depictions flanking either side of the title; a woman with her child accompanied by two men wearing fur hats while holding bows and arrows. On one side we witness three men hunting a polar bear amidst some dogs while on another side there is an illustration featuring sailing ships and boats alongside various predatory animals like bears. Created by Jan Luyken in Amsterdam between 1681-1799 using paper engraving techniques; this artwork measures approximately 520 mm high by 585 mm wide. It is truly an extraordinary addition to Liszt Collection that should be admired for its historical value rather than commercial use purposes
