The older woman sits comfortably with her feet resting on a stool, holding onto her knitting project in her lap. However, amidst their affectionate encounter, it seems that the man's leg has become entangled in a thread from the fallen tangle of wool on the floor. On the right side of this remarkable illustration are two young girls dressed in nightdresses engaged in prayer. Their innocent faces radiate pure devotion as they exchange kisses and continue their knitting activities. One girl appears to be deep in prayer while another child-like figure stands between toddlerhood and youth.
